[Part 1

Homework on the weekends is just plain unfair! Luke chooses not to bring this up with his favorite teacher, however, opting instead to carry his notebook and papers and books to somewhere else to study. He considers the library, standing before its door for a while, but in the end he turns around and goes through the Welcome Center to the Tea Shop instead. The sense of bustle helps him get all distracted concentrate.

Plus, there's tea. He chooses an empty table and spreads out everything he'll need. As usual, this turns pretty quickly into him sitting there with a full cup of tea while he devises puzzles on paper or of paper. At the height of his distraction he builds a tower of folded paper cubes...and a gust of wind through the window scatters them all across the floor.

Then he's got to pick them up again.

Part 2

After all - or most - of his schoolwork is finished, Luke shoulders his bag and heads off to the stables. Just because Mr. Greg went home is no reason to slack in his responsibilities! He loves the horses and they tend to like him too. Besides, he brought carrots.

He greets any fellow stablehands and goes about his horsey business, picking up a rake to start on clearing one of the stalls. Of course, you've got to get the horse out of it first.

What happens next isn't quite clear to him once it's over; all he knows is that something spooked the horse and he managed to get out of the way before it kicked, and now he's on the ground with the rake's handle trapped beneath him. Pushing himself up again, he sees that the sound he heard must have been said handle half-snapping as he landed on it. Then he notices something else.

A bit shaky, he goes back to his bag and fumbles his journal out of it.]

I think there's...a bit of a problem... I'm at the- the stables and I fell and, uh...I might be hurt.

[Though he sounds unsure, it's the kind of unsure that really makes one sure.]

[[ooc: Go ahead. Break time. You know you want to. It'll be great. (Meaning, of course more than one person can find him at the tea shop/pick up papers with him/discover his fate in the stables. Have fun!)]]

[As usual Rudy is there as well, taking care of his usual tasks. He's carrying out a bucket filled with water when a sudden, worrying noise from the stalls abruptly grabs his attention. That is not a good sound. Immediately setting the bucket down he runs back in, checking around for the source of said noise. Soon enough, he finds...]

Luke?

[If nothing else is in there, he's not wasting any time stepping inside. Especially if Luke's hurt.]

Luke, you alright? What happened?

[Oh. Real live help. Luke shuts his journal and goes back to looking pale.]

I, um...I hurt my arm, I think.

[action]

[Frowning, he'll take a few steps closer and kneels to the boy's height, looking for any other obvious signs of injury. A hurting arm could be anything after all, from a dislocated shoulder to an actual broken bone.]

Tell me where. Does it hurt if you try to move it?

[Does 'everywhere' count as an answer?]

I guess...down here. [And he flinches when he tries to lift his forearm for inspection. The rake suffered worse though, wooden handle roughly snapped almost-in-half.]

[ Twilight's taking a break from the library, which has been a massive drain of her energy. She goes wandering again, and finds the tea shop... mostly because a couple of folded white paper cubes have drifted down the stairs. She takes one in her mouth and trots up to find Luke at his table. She lays it in front of him. ]

Hi. I think this is yours?

[hisapprentice]

[Luke is under the table, picking up the pieces. He looks up a bit at the voice and...sees four legs.]

Uh, yeah, it is. Thanks. [Then he shimmies out from under the table.] Sorry about that.

[fourthgenerationprincess]

No problem. [ She stares at the cubes. ] What were you doing with all of these?

[Voice]

[niceguypose]

You are injured? Please! Let me rescue you!

[Voice]

[hisapprentice]

W-Well I...I don't need a rescue, I think. [Not in imminent danger, is he? No, no, he thinks not.] I just fell.

[Voice]

[niceguypose]

You have fallen? What is your physical condition, young sir?

[voice]

[reminded]

[A growing sense of dread creeps coldly in his chest.]

Luke? Can you hear me? I'll be there in a moment.

[voice]

[hisapprentice]

[Ohhhh what a relief. Sort of.]

Of course I can hear you, Professor.

[voice --> action]

[reminded]

Hold fast until I arrive.

[He foregoes putting on his coat to stride out of the flat and down the stairs. It's a good thing that they live so close to the stables, as hardly a minute or two passes by the time he arrives at the stable entrance.]

voice.

[Fell, and hurt? At the stables, too. That already paints a worrying picture. Frowning, he responds.]

Try not to move until help gets there, Luke. Stay out of the horses' way, too. [And there will probably be people going to help already, but] I'll go there too.

voice.

[hisapprentice]

[Too late.] I already got out of the way. I...I can walk all right. [By now his arm is really starting to ache though.]

voice.

Luke, don't. Stay where you are, do you think you broke it?

[Action]

[complicatedliar]

[Well, considering the stables are half Loki's, he is not at all pleased to hear that. He's there far faster than he has any right to be, striding into the building. He spots the boy quickly.

Probably because Luke is not an adult, he doesn't sound quite as angry as he could.]

What happened?

[He manages to throttle the urge to ask what did you do instead. That was a question he learned to hate when he was young.]

[Action]

I-I tripped. [He's in something of a fragile state already, having a tall somewhat-angry person in his space is intimidating.] Over a rake I was going to use. The horses are all right.

[Luke is a pretty familiar face around the stables, and he talks to them and they generally get on well.]

[Action]

[Loki glances around then nods, immediately calming down. He's certainly not seeing blood or fire, and that's really the sort of thing he'd worried about.]

Let's have a look at your arm.

[He sinks to one knee, since the height difference is a bit ridiculous.] Accidents do happen, Luke. 'Tis all right.

[Paper, you say? Paper that is moving? Why, that's the best kind to chase! She boops a few of the cubes forward with her paws playfully before a snapping sound from behind her makes her cease.

Aww man :<.]

Nana, no. we don't play with someone else's papercraft. That isn't very cool. It's actually the opposite of cool. It's rude.

[Nana growls begrudgingly. She hates to admit it, but Ruby's right.]

[Then, to Luke-] I'm sorry about your things, do you need help picking these up? [...Whatever these 'things' are, that is.]

[Action]

Oh, it's- it's not a problem, really. What I was doing didn't work anyway. Thanks though, help would be great.

[As it so happens, Emil is working in the tea shop today. It's busy enough that he doesn't notice Luke immediately, but it's hard NOT to notice that tower of paper cubes that's slowly taking shape on his table.

Okay, so surely Emil can take a break for a few moments to go over and see what he's up to, right?]

Hey Luke! What are you building?

[A puzzle.]

I'm trying to make the thing that Pascal made in the square the other day. Did you see it? [He's just not foolish enough to try it with ice cubes.]

Oh, you mean that game with the big blocks of ice? Yeah, I saw it, but I didn't try it out.

What was the point of it, anyway? I'm not sure I really understood.
