Does anyone want to help celebrate the new year with a puzzle? I made it up myself!

Which of these shapes can't be drawn without picking your pen up from the page or retracing any lines?

It's okay if you cross over a line you already made, but if you've got it all right you shouldn't need to.

Don't tell anyone else your answer! I'm not going to give it away to everyone either.

They look really neat, and pretty! Do you want to become an artist?

U-Uh, no, not really. I suppose I've just practiced a lot, making up puzzles for the Professor.

Who's the professor? Does he like puzzles? And artists? ...And ice cream?

He really loves puzzles. But he's an archaeology professor really. I think if he could teach a puzzle course he would.

...Achey-ology? Does he have a bad back? Tell him to sit down, rest and do some puzzles.

No, no, archaeology. It means studying...really old stuff. Ancient civilizations!

Of course not. He was one of the youngest professors at Gressenheller University when he started!

Ohhh. So... He's young then. It be must be cool to be a pro-fessor when you're Yotsuba's age. Yotsuba would teach everyone about cicadas.

Ohhh, how old is that guy then? Is he so ancient that that professor Layton guy studies him?

I don't know exactly how old he is. He might be in his sixties.

So he's three time as old as the Layton guy. Ohhh, three times the Laytons! Three times the daddy aged people!!

That means he's so old that when it's 'Respect for the Aged' day, Yotsuba can give him flowers! For his shrine at home, right? Lots of flowers from lots of places with lots of colours!

'Respect for the Aged' day?

Yeah! It's a day where you tell all the old people 'HAPPY RESPECT FOR THE AGE DAY' when it isn't their birthday but you still want to say something to them.

I know a lot of people who would be offended if you called them "aged"...

But it's true, right? They're really, really old. Yotsuba could always ask if they're dead yet.

That's not a very nice thing to ask old people.

But Yotsuba asks it all the time, because old people are old. [:V] Yotsuba asked a grandma if she were dead and she said the grandad had come from a place with lots of food and where everyone was happy. They were both really nice.

[Yotsuba, you confuse him more than any adult ever has.]

Well Dr. Schrader isn't old enough for that! [He was presumed dead once.]
